Nirina Never Meets Her First Love

This 5th grade elementary school girl was not as cheerful as we think. Her heart harbored a sadness that she had buried almost all her life, and it is unknown how long it would last. Every day she continuously erodes her heart until sometimes she is carried away by a feeling of sadness that can explode at any time. She is Nirina. She is the second and youngest child born in the village of Girimulyo, Kulon Progo Regency. She said, her mother married his father who is a Medanese.

Nirina lives with her mother, who is a macram (bambo plaited basket) craftsman. Every day she helps her mother thread the needle, because her mother’s sight is not as good as when she was young. To Human Initiative team, she revealed that her mother was like a wonder woman because she could take care of her, her brother and grandfather alone. Yes, Nirina also lives with her grandfather at home. Due to her age, he no longer works.

Never Meet His First Love

Life has made her grow to be more mature than her age. Because, she prefers to spend time at home helping her mother, rather than spending time playing with friends. She realized that she was not born into a perfect family. She has lost her father as a support of her life.

There was a long sigh when Nirina conveyed one of the biggest hopes and desires in her life, which to this day has never been realized. “I want to meet dad” her voice trembled, then soon tears spilled from her eyes. Now, the sadness has finally exploded, showing how fragile Nirina really is.
Since Nirina was born to this day, she has never met her father, never seen what he looks like. Nirina had only ever heard her father’s voice over the phone, with a distance of several kilometers, she couldn’t even imagine what her father’s real voice was like.

Her mother said that her father had not been able to go home because he had to earn a living in Kalimantan as a labor at oil palm plantation. Nirina doesn’t know when her father can come home and meet her. Whether her father wants to meet him or he really does not want to meet Nirina.

There are so many things she wants to ask to her Dad, but she always keeps it and she wants to ask when she meets him. Even though she does not know when. Clearly, she believes that day would come. Dad will come and stay with her forever. She really loves her father even though she has never met him, but she is sure that her heart loves him without Nirina understanding the reason why she can love even though she has not met him.

Nirina also promised herself that she would become a strong daughter and succeed in achieving her dream as a volleyball athlete so that she could have a lot of money and bring her father back home.
